GHANA CARD TO COST NATION $1.2 BILLION.





The National Identification Authority has on Monday May 28, 2018 began the re-registration and issuance of the instant National Identification Card (Ghana Card). The exercise began at the Jubilee House and the Judicial Service.

It will subsequently be extended to cover the three former Presidents - Flt Lt J.J. Rawlings, Mr J.A. Kufour and Mr John Dramani Mahama - the Chief Imam, the Ga Mantse, as well as former Chief of Justice and Speakers of Parliament, according to the Daily Graphic.

The security agencies comprising the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), the Ghana Police Service and the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS), will also be served as well as professional bodies such as Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) and the Ghana Bar Association (GBA).

The exercise is expected to cost the nation $1.2 billion over 15 years.

POOR DRAINAGE SYSTEM IN GHANA.

For some unidentifiable years now, Ghanaians always suffer when it rains. Information reaching us is that, the Ghana Meteorological Service has confirmed that, there will be excessive rainfall for the next five(5) months which strategically starts from this month. On Thursday, at about 11:40pm, it rained heavily,which some people who encounted the rain explained that, it was a "five hours non-stop rain". In some neighbourhoods such as Mamprobi, Korle-Gonno and its environs got messed up while raining. Houses were flooded, gutters were chocked. Due to this, some parents of school children, got panic to allow their wards leave for school. Some food vendors also got affected negetively because their foods went unpurchased due to the distance limit of customers People had to scoop the mini flood in their various houses before moving out. While some residents were late to work, others decided not to go at all, with the thought that it will start again.

1 KILLED OVER " BANKU " WITH SOUP.

A 38 year old man identified as Kwabena Boahene on Wednesday 17 is reported killed by his two friends at Assin Subrinso, a farming community in Assin North Municipality of the Central Region. David Amaglo a local reporter at the area told Kaakyire Kwasi Afari on Offinso based Time Fm evening news that there was an exchange of words between Kwabena Boahen, a native of Assin Dansame, now deceased, and his two friends identified as Ekow and Abena wura, a commercial driver demanding to join Kwabena Boahen in hands with a local dish "banku" with soup which resulted in a heated brawl between . The reporter explained that the "banku" was purchased by Kwabena Boahen from a chop bar operator and started having pudding at the spot where the two came from nowhere only to demand a taste of the meal.
